Yoga and Ayurveda Journey to India. A Transformative Experience in Rishikesh, the Capital of Yoga
From October 14th to 25th, 2025, The 108 Peaks organized a unique Yoga and Ayurveda journey to India, a transformative 11-day experience that took place in Rishikesh, the world’s Capital of Yoga.
The journey was guided by Gemma, co-founder of The 108 Peaks and long-time resident in India, together with Mercè Pérez Torres, founder of La Nova Llavor, a Yoga and Ayurveda health center based in Balaguer (Catalonia, Spain). Together, they created a space where every participant could explore India through Yoga, Ayurveda, and spirituality, while being fully supported and accompanied from the moment they landed in India until their departure.
A Journey of Culture, Connection, and Conscious Living
The group — ten open-hearted Catalan travelers — arrived in India ready to live a meaningful experience.
Over eleven days, they immersed themselves in the essence of Indian culture: visiting ashrams, ancient temples, and colorful local markets, tasting the diversity of North and South Indian cuisine, and discovering the sacred flow of the Ganges River, where they joined in purification rituals and morning meditations by the water.
The program included a traditional Ayurvedic cooking class, an Ayurveda workshop, and a restorative Abhyanga massage given by trained local therapists.
Participants also had the opportunity to visit sacred caves where sages are said to have meditated, witness a sunrise over the Himalayas, and take part in Bhajan and Kirtan chanting sessions, experiencing the healing power of sound and devotion.
“This trip was not just about visiting India,” Gemma explains, “but about living it, learning from its philosophy, its people, and its rhythm. We wanted everyone to return home with new tools to bring awareness, calm, and Ayurvedic wisdom into their daily lives.”

A Transformative Experience Shared from the Heart
At the end of the journey, participants were asked:
“What has this trip personally brought to you?” Their answers reflect the depth of the experience:
“I can already feel an important opening in all aspects of myself.”
“Physically, I’ve become more aware of my limits and how to take better care of my body. Emotionally, something inside me has shifted, even if I can’t put it into words yet.”
“I’ve gained knowledge, clarity, and new routines, Ayurvedic food, meditation, mantras, tools to live with more peace.”
“This trip has been a before and after. I came back full of gratitude, calm, and light.”
They were also asked: “If you had to recommend this trip to someone, what would you say?”
“That the guides are two beautiful souls who truly know India, they take care of where they bring you, who they connect you with, and how they hold the space.”
“Go with an open heart and no expectations. The experience is full of magic and learning that can’t always be described in words.”
“It’s a trip that helps you discover India from the inside, less touristy, more authentic, more human.”
“It’s a journey to rediscover yourself, to stop, to breathe, to heal. You come back with new tools to live more consciously.”

Rishikesh is not just a destination; it is a living temple of Yoga. Nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas, on the banks of the sacred Ganges, this city invites visitors to slow down, to listen, and to awaken inner stillness.
Through daily Yoga practice, Ayurveda teachings, and immersive cultural visits, participants experienced India as a teacher, one that challenges, purifies, and transforms.
